Basic info: I'm a native of east Alabama, and I spent my growing up years there and in west and south Georgia. I served 11 years as a pilot in the US Air Force, then left the service in 1971 to study at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. I served as pastor in Burnaby, BC, and Mountain Home, ID, then served as a missionary pastor at Kanto Plains Baptist Church (near Yokota Air Force Base) in West Tokyo, Japan. My wife, Elizabeth, and I returned to the States and joined Calvary Baptist in 2005. Since that time, I have served as interim pastor, and Elizabeth and I have both been Sunday School teachers and Discipleship leaders. I'm currently serving as minister to Seniors. Elizabeth and I have six children; one has passed, and the others live in Boise.
Education: BS in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University, 1959; MDiv (Master of Divinity) from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, 1974
Favorites and Interests: I love to learn and share what I've learned with others. I enjoy history studies, theology, and stock market investing. I just finished reading Empires of the Sea about the gigantic struggle between the Ottoman Turks and the King of Spain for control of the Mediterranean. This distraction allowed the Protestant Reformation in Europe to succeed.
Dislikes: I dislike root beer and troublesome neighbors.
Odd fact: I have the UGLIEST feet in the world.
Favorite verse: ...the words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. John 6:63
